ACIK means “fisherman” in our local language - and that’s who we are.  We live on the shores of Lake Kyoga in Eastern Uganda but we can no longer fish because the fish population has been depleted.

 We are creating a fish farm to train fisherfolk in aquaculture and help them start their own farms, Our enterprise is totally local and bottom-up https://www.monitor.co.ug/uganda/magazine

With your help, we can become totally self-sustaining within six years and help enabling hundreds, if not thousands, of families to pull themselves out of extreme poverty.

Community Based Organization

The Aquaculture Community Initiative Kyoga (ACIK) is a legally registered, not-for-profit Ugandan CBO initiated by fisherfolk to ensure a livelihood and food security for their community and other communities in Uganda and East Africa.
